When servicemembers serve, they aren't the only ones who serve. Their families serve also. Homecomings are joyous moments for military families, but until recently, the service and sacrifice made by the extended family members went largely unrecognized.
That has all changed here, thanks to the creation of the Family Medal. Now you can honor the special aunt, uncle, brother, sister, the in-laws (or out-laws) or that special friend that you and your family consider to be family.
This medal is a gift they will treasure and tell their friends about. Ideal to recognize their contributions. The medal, itself, is in the shape of a pentagon and measures 1 3/8 inches from point to point and is approximately 3 mm thick and has a copper finish, the drape is a "regulation" size drape. Back of the medal is a smooth polished surface in the copper color and is ideal for engraving.
There is NO "issuing criteria" beyond that of a servicemember that wishes to recognize the contributions of those that they consider family and have supported them and who understands the sacrifices the servicemember is serving their country.
